The Bonus ball only counts if you have 5 correct numbers apart from the Bonus ball.

The overall odds of a winning a prize in the lottery are 1 in 24. It's worth remembering that the exact value of prizes depends on how many tickets are sold and how many people match the same quantity of numbers as you. For example, if two or more people match the five numbers and 2 Lucky Stars drawn, then the Euro Millions Lottery jackpot is split between them.

Dealing with fraud

Someone has contacted me saying I have won the Lottery and I haven’t got a ticket

If you don't play the Lottery or Euro Millions and are told that you have won a large sum of money it is simply not true.

If you have not purchased a UK Lottery ticket you obviously cannot win. The UK Lottery does not pay out money unless you can produce a winning ticket. The UK Lottery does not know who has won until that person claims on a winning ticket.

Unfortunately this is a World Wide Scam which has been exposed many times. These people are criminals who prey on the naivety and greed of others. If you have been contacted by people insisting you have won the lottery when you haven’t purchased a ticket please ignore them or if you can get their details inform your local police. Typically they will ask for a small fee for you to collect the non-existent winnings or account details to where they can post the bogus prize. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS ABOUT YOURSELF! Do not reply to them. Do not phone them. Do not give them money. Do not go near them.

The UK Lottery only pays out on a valid ticket which you must have purchased in the UK, or on a legal site such as www.uknationallottery.com which is a site for overseas players.
